The Smurfs actually, is a coming movie presented in 3D. It is based on The Smurfs comic whose author is Peyo which was also made into an animated TV series way back in 1980. This coming movie The Smurfs has Neil Patrick Harris of the famed How I Met Your Mother TV comedy series in the lead role together with Jonathan Winters, Hank Azaria, Jayma Mays and Sofia Vergara. It is directed by Raja Gosnell produced by Jordan Kerner. and will be distributed by Columbia Pictures. For the information of the many followers of The Smurfs, this will be the first CGI/live-action hybrid film in The Smurfs trilogy. Film rights of The Smurfs was obtained by Columbia Pictures and Sonny Pictures Animation in 2008. Shooting of the movie begun in earnest om March 26, 2010 in the state of New York. The public showing of this movie was modified three times until finally, it is now scheduled for release on July 29, 2011.Actually, relating to the showing of this movie, there were several e-mails I received from relatives abroad asking to confirm whether The Smurfs movie was already released in our country, considering that the scheduled opening date has been moved three times already. In fact, I already have e-mailed them that per information, the public showing of the movie The Smurfs will now be a reality to happen this coming July 29, 2011 and that our whole family will be watching the movie online for free.
The story line of the movie The Smurfs will start out in the middle ages when the hated evil wizard known as Gargamel, voiced by Hank Azaria, finds the Smurfs' community and chases them. The Smurfs naturally scampered in different direction with some wandering into the wooded area. Clumsy Smurf, voiced by Anton Yelchin, and his other companion gets inside a grotto to hide themselves. Unknown to them, the grotto has magical portal powers that transported them into the present-day Central Park in New York, and landing them by way of a freight delivered box into the home of Patrick and Grace Winslow, played by Neil Patrick Harris and Jayma Mays. This modern-day misadventures of the Smurfs is truly very funny and just so right for the enjoyment of the whole family, considering that the movie is done in 3D. Of course, if you are fond of watching movies in theaters, you will surely be able to experience the pleasure of viewing this movie in 3 dimensions. But going back to the movie The Smurfs; how will they be able to go back to the middle ages? Will the evil wizard Gargamel be able to catch them in present day Central Park?
